Catering at Alden Orchards

We are happy to have you onsite at Alden Orchards! We do not have a vendor site fee and always provide a helping hand to ensure you are taken care of as a vendor. Our assistant can be reached at anytime throughout the event at (616) 514-0337.

The map below shows the space for the caterer to park (you are welcome to block that driveway for the entirety of the event!) The parking is close to both the kitchen, the pavilion, and the reception space as shown. The ceremony space is also outside of view of the parking so that your activities do not distract from the ceremony. The prep kitchen is pictured below with stainless steel countertops available for prepping, plating and bussing as desired. The refrigerator is available for use, but make sure you check with the client prior to coming onsite to determine their plans for fridge use. It is sometimes used to store the cake, breakfast, florals, ect. and may be already filled based on the clients needs.

The drinking water access is within the prep kitchen from well water. Most caterers opt to bring their own pre-filled water jugs/bottles instead.

There is a 6ft folding table and linen already set up in the pavilion for happy hour (if appetizers are planned) along with two 6ft tables with linens set-up inside the barn for dinner. Just have the client request additional tables if needed (such as for a charcuterie board table or other large displays). Both sides of the buffet table are open for serving/guest lines. The ask is that once the serving is compete, the tables are broken down and moved outside the barn away from the party. The Alden Orchards staff can assist, but we want to make sure it happens on your timeline so feel free to take lead and move tables on your own as well.

Dishes and flatware are based on the bride and grooms choosing. If the client is renting the dishes from Alden Orchards, the plates are placed by the client either at individual seats or at the beginning of the buffet line. The cleaning instructions for rented dishes are to be provided by the client. If clearing plates onsite, you are welcome to use a table next to the kitchen/caterer parking space and use the hose water if desired.

We do ask that food and beverage be disposed and taken offsite at the end of the night.

All caterers must have the necessary licenses and permits required by the the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulations, Kent County Health Department and any other regulatory entities to operate as a catering business. A copy of your Certificate of Insurance and Catering License is to be sent to Alden Orchards at least one week prior to event date. We are unable to host any businesses that cannot supply this documentation in that manner.

This is provided in a sanitized state and expected to be returned clean.

The Pavilion

This is commonly the happy hour space with the provided table and linen.

The Barn

This is commonly the reception space with the provided buffet tables and linens.
